Microsoft Telling Hackers to Take Their Best Shot at Cracking Windows Vista is Unwise

It's been reported for a little over a week now that Microsoft Corp. has challenged hackers to try and hack their new state-of-the-art (and unreleased) Windows Vista operating system.

I think someone's cheese has slid off his cracker. Microsoft is nuts to dare hackers to break their system. That's just asking for trouble and more embarassing security breaches.

Given Microsoft's track record so far, this looks like a publicity stunt. And they should remember that hackers will attack their operating system on their own time, not on Microsoft's.
