Former World Championship Wrestling (WCW) wrestler Chase Tatum was found dead of an accidental drug overdose in his Georgia home. He was 34.
His WCW career lasted about 2 1/2 years; he left WCW with severe back problems before Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment bought WCW. It lead to a painkiller addiction, for which he had been planning to go into rehab for, and major back surgery ten days ago to repair a damaged vertebrae from his WCW experience.
His dad told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Chase was well on his way to getting his life re-established and without the painkillers. He had a role in the 2007 movie "Who's Your Caddy?" and worked as a successful personal trainer before and then after his WCW stint. He had also landed a role in another film which was to begin filming in New York soon.
Autopsy and toxicology test results will hopefully shed more light on how this happened.
